Students who are deemed competent will receive RII50920 Diploma of Underground Coal Mining Management. This is recognised as a qualifying course for sitting the statutory exams for undermanager in both New South Wales and Queensland. The 12 units of competency in this course are nationally recognised. Course Overview
This qualification describes the skills and knowledge required by personnel who are planning their pathway to becoming a mine statutory official such as a mine undermanager. These persons assist in the management of an underground coal mine and perform tasks involving a high level of autonomy that require the application of significant judgement in planning and determining the selection of equipment/roles/techniques for themselves and others. They are required to demonstrate the application of a broad range of technical, managerial, coordination and planning and implement safety management plans.
